Chesterfield
Crosswicks is a quaint downtown in a township that was once a Revolutionary War outpost. A cannonball still embedded in the wall of its Quaker meetinghouse is a testament to that struggle. The township's three villages are Sykesville, Crosswicks and Chesterfield. In an effort to preserve rural farmland, development is being concentrated into a new fourth village-Old York, which will have more than 1,000 homes of various types and a business district.
